My name is Cory Charlton and I’m currently working as a Software Engineer for DriveCam. I joined the company in March of 2004 as the only Technical Support Representative and one of approximately 20 employees. Being a small company my skills were put to use in many areas beyond technical support. My responsibilities quickly expanded to administrating Active Directory and Nortel phone system as well as providing internal IT support.

As the company rapidly grew a more formal IT department was created and the tech support department gained more bodies. As a Senior Technical Support Engineer I was able to focus on administering the customer facing (production) systems and network. On my spare time I developed applications ranging from monitoring services to automation tools to make my and internal user’s lives easier. Fortunately those above me saw the value I was providing in the tools I was developing and I was able to shift my primary responsibility to coding.

From that point it was a natural transition to join the Software Engineering department where I am able to work on our main product line as well as better integrate my applications with the existing infrastructure. It’s been an exciting opportunity for me to expand my knowledge of Visual C# and Javascript.
